After winning his fifth Mr. Olympia title, the Classic Physique God Chris Bumstead is focusing on other facets of training. Despite the rigorous weight training and diet rituals for 2023 Mr. Olympia, CBum bread and butter is hitting the gym. However, this time to improve his mobility. 

CBum always focused on holistic bodybuilding techniques to maximize results without compromising his health. The Classic Physique champion recently joined hands with a renowned coach, Vernon Griffith, to improve his mobility. Griffith took to his Instagram to spill the beans on the session with CBum involving a unique exercise to elevate hip mobility.

Mobility is crucial to lifting weights as it allows bodybuilders to activate muscle fibers and improve their range of motion. Mobility training is more about maintaining joint health. So, CBum set his physique-oriented training aside to focus on health and sustainability for a while. 

The soon-to-be dad, CBum, was recently involved in a hip mobility workout session with Vernon Griffith by performing wall sit-ups. The wall creates tension in the torso as CBum rotates one of his lower limbs to improve his hip mobility.

“When working through movements make sure to keep the main thing the main thing. Finding ways to create constraints for athletes to explore within those setups is key,” Griffith confirmed in his post. They also focused on spine-related exercises, and the 5x Mr. Olympia is grateful for meeting coaches like Griffith while sharing snippets from his mobility training sessions. This year has offered CBum multiple reasons to celebrate. After tearing his lat ten weeks before Mr. Olympia, the 28-year-old bounced back to win his fifth Sandow trophy. The incident helped him to fare high on his champion mentality.
