August seems to be an exciting month for bodybuilding fans as it allows them to pay tribute to two iconic bodybuilders. Earlier, bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger celebrated his 76th birthday on 30th July with friends and family. Moreover, another icon, Jay Cutler, also turned 50 on 3rd July 2023. The fitness juggernauts share 11 Mr Olympia titles between them. Furthermore, Schwarzenegger and Cutler have shown tremendous dedication to fitness, despite retiring from the bodybuilding stage many years back.
Earlier, the Austrian Oak took to social media and posted a birthday tribute to 4x Mr Olympia champion. It reflects the camaraderie bodybuilding professionals share. In the display of true sportsman spirit, one icon holding another in esteem reflects a rich legacy of mutual admiration and bonhomie. The behemoths have an age gap of twenty-six years, yet their contribution to bodybuilding is eerily similar. They epitomize the ethos of bodybuilding.

Recently, taking to Instagram, the Terminator posted a carousel story. In the first snippet, the Austrian Oak and 8x Mr. Olympia were training together in an open gym. The second video is a throwback snippet of Cutler training hard in the gym, preparing for Mr Olympia in the 2000s. The tribute is a repost from “arnoldsports page’, which captioned the post with ” best to ever set foot on a bodybuilding stage, 4X Mr. Olympia fb 3X Arnold Classic Champion.” Arnie wrote a simple “Happy Birthday @jaycutler.” Furthermore, Quad Stomper says, “I was never genetically the most gifted” in the video.
Despite his genetic challenges, the mass monster dethroned Ronnie Coleman in 2006. Eventually, Cutler lost to Dexter Jackson, but he considers his loss a wake-up call that helped him win the 2009 and 2010 Mr Olympia again. He admitted, “I think losing Dexter was the best thing to ever happen to me. I think I get complacent. I think I get used to winning.” This win in Jay Cutler’s career earned him the moniker of “Comeback Kid.”
Additionally, Cutler motivated netizens by saying, “Real Champions and real winners will pick themselves up and overcome all odds. Leave the past behind, turn failure into opportunity,” in an old Instagram post. Recently the Quad Stomper appeared in a podcast and answered some questions about the raging GOAT debate. The IFBB pro hailed Coleman as the best. However, he also acknowledged Arnold Schwarzenegger’s contribution to bodybuilding as unparallel.

A few months back, the CEO of Cutler Nutrition appeared on the Don’t be Sour podcast with Maxx Chewning and addressed the million-dollar question. “If you look at the physique and the transition of time, just Ronnie pushed the physique level to just a crazy conditioning, muscle density quality. You know he was like a powerlifter and a bodybuilder…he broke all weight records and had a crazy physique,” told Cutler about his great onstage rival.
However, he also respects Schwarzenegger’s contribution to bodybuilding. Arnie added star power to the sport and brought it out of unknown alleys. The Quad Stomper believed that Arnie was too ahead of his times, and lacked a worthy challenger. Cutler appreciated the 7x Mr. Olympia’s push for bodybuilding, which paved the way for fitness icons like him. The post by the ex-Governor of California has all the concomitant factors to become viral.
