Award-winning author and scholar of extremism and radicalization, Cynthia Miller-Idriss, recently wrote an article for MSNBC titled “Pandemic fitness trends have gone extreme — literally.” In the opinion piece, she emphasized her thoughts on how far right is using fitness at-home trends to preach their ideals to fitness enthusiasts. The channel shared the article on its Twitter handle and captioned it, “The far right’s obsession with fitness is going digital.” The news piece didn’t hit chords with fitness lovers, and the messiah of fitness, Arnold Schwarzenegger, responded to it.

The bodybuilding icon built his athletic and acting careers through a fitness routine. Eliminating the political context from fitness, ‘The Austrian Oak’ revealed the fitness mantra for his followers on Twitter.

The 7x Mr. Olympia has always emphasized being fit. His physique during his bodybuilding prime was the epitome of hard work at the gym. And through his newsletter, Arnold’s Pump Club, he spreads the fitness mantra, motivating his subscribers to lead a happy and healthy life. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is trying to build the biggest and best fitness community, was upset about the MSNBC article that linked physical fitness and politics.

Replying to the post of the news agency, Schwarzenegger retorted, “Fitness is not political. Right or left, all of us can benefit from the lessons of progressive resistance training – creating a vision/goal, building a routine. doing the reps, learning to love failure, the list goes on…” He further encouraged fitness enthusiasts to look for his newsletter if they felt lost in their fitness journey. “If you don’t know where to start: http://arnoldspumpclub.com,” he added.

The Governator still hits the gym at 75 and focuses on being in shape and active. ‘The Terminator’ icon’s newsletter is all about well-being and is anything but politics. Though a Republican for life, Schwarzenegger never brought politics into fitness, and his latest Twitter reply is yet another example. Arnie hardly ever relied on party-oriented politics and once made his political intentions clear.

The Austrian Oak’s political thoughts are people-oriented

In an interview with Elex Michaelson, the Predator had some advice for public servants. According to the action hero, citizens should be at the heart of public servants once they win the elections. “You are a public servant, not a party servant. So, don’t give me that party c*ap,” he said.

The Governator has prioritized people’s issues and added value to their lives. His financial and environmental reforms reflect his people-oriented rule as California’s Governor. Even after his term, the ‘FUBAR’ star actively campaigns against the climate crisis.
