Fitness influencer Alex Eubank is done holding back. The bodybuilding enthusiast who rose to prominence through his body transformation disagrees with where the industry is heading. Eubank deviated from his usual content to make a video with his unfiltered opinion on ste***d use. The bodybuilder who got hospitalized while attempting a prolonged fast last year explained his views.
Alex Eubank said just two years ago, people didn’t support the use or glorification of PEDs. However, he also explained that the shift didn’t happen overnight. While the fitness icon said the trend exploded in 2023, he saw warning signs years ago. The YouTuber explained how he saw other fitness influencers change during bodybuilding/fitness expos and events.
By the late 2010s, “Every trip to LA, there’d be like another ‘natural’ influencer who fell and hopped on ste***ds,” said Alex Eubank. A few years down the line, “We’re in the ‘glorifying steroid use’ era,” said the fitness influencer in his recent YT video. However, the 24-year-old believes that this era will only cause harm because using PEDs isn’t the route you should take in fitness.

“The meta now is like just to be the most jacked, unhealthiest, ugly strongest man,” said Eubank for the new wave of influencers who promote ste***d use. he also voiced his concern for the young, impressionable audience that watches them. “I genuinely fear for the future of this and the people consuming this type of sh*t… because they’re going to ruin their lives,” said Eubank.
He said kids watching fitness influencers often look up to them for advice. Some fans even try replicating their favorite influencer to get similar results. Eubank feels kids might start following the footsteps of enhanced influencers, causing irreparable harm. However, the 24-year-old isn’t the first who is calling out influencers promoting PEDs.
Veteran fitness influencer Greg Doucette has also raised the alarm bells like Alex Eubank
Greg Doucette isn’t your typical fitness influencer. Doucette had a career as a powerlifter and competitive bodybuilder before social media, as we know it, existed. So, the formerly enhanced bodybuilder brought his experience to the online fitness space. Recently, Doucette has called out many of the types of influencers Alex Eubank warned about in his video.

Doucette called out influencer David Rau for promoting ste***ds and other PEDs. He also made a video on another bodybuilder and influencer, STANYO. While the influencer claims to be natural on social media, Doucette pointed out that he promotes various experimental substances like Tadalafil, MK-677, and more. The former Canadian National Bodybuilding champion even found a teenager, Adameatstren, who promoted PED use.
While Alex Eubank thinks that fitness influences promoting ste***ids could cause a lot of harm, Greg Doucette showed that the damage may have already started.
