This year has seen unexpected collaborations within the fitness and bodybuilding industries. Previously, Hany Rambod – the coach of two current Mr. Olympia winners – Chris Bumstead and Derek Lunsford, met with the son of bodybuilding legend Joseph Baena. They trained with Shizzy and Axel Martinez. This time, he met with the young fitness influencer and internet sensation Sara Saffari.

The duo endured a grueling and soul-crushing leg day at a gym in Woodland Hills. Saffari eagerly anticipated the workout with Chris Bumstead’s coach, and Rambod trained her with the same intensity he employs with his Olympia athletes. Let’s examine the leg workout that the Pro Creator designed for the fitness icon.

Pro Creator followed the partial rep approach

They began their leg workout with several sets on the leg extension machine. However, the Pro Creator incorporated some toe variations to enhance the effectiveness of the exercise. He instructed the fitness influencer to keep her toes straight while performing the reps. Along with this, Rambod added, “She was touching the weight back on the stack; you do not want to do that; you want that constant tension; that’s what’s going to create that burn.

She keeps bringing her butt up her hips up; you need to keep those hips down so that you can get the maximum stretch in the upper quad,” explains the five-time Mr. Olympia’s coach. Then, the Pro Creator had her follow the same rep approach he uses with Bumstead. He had Saffari perform pause and release repetitions, along with partial reps.

The duo then transitioned to lying hamstring curls, and Rambod ensured that the plates didn’t touch the stacks. The 49-year-old coach pointed out that the fitness influencer’s right leg was traveling too far outward and advised her to keep the leg straight. “It’s almost like your hips are a little bit out of alignment, so what we’re going to do is I’m going to bring your knee back in and then line them up,” explains the Pro Creator. They didn’t just stop here; this was just the warmup for Rambod. The real exercises are coming up next.

Rambod advises Saffari to do slow reps

Later, they progressed to hack squats, and the coach from Bumstead’s team advised Saffari to perform slow reps to increase time under tension for better results. He didn’t allow her to rest between sets and concluded the hack squats quickly, with the last set being a killer set. The Pro Creator had Saffari perform extra-slow reps with heightened concentration.

The duo then performed walking lunges with a barbell rod, but with a twist. In the first set, Saffari held the rod in front and performed barbell bicep curls. In the next set, she placed the rod on her back. The Pro Creator concluded the workout with barbell rod squats. This was the most intense workout the fitness influencer had ever experienced.

The Pro Creator always trains everyone the same way he trains his athletes for Olympia. He followed the same approach while training Saffari.
