A former athlete, who still inspires the bodybuilding world with his positive attitude and winning mentality, recently got candid on a personal level. While he had previously opened up about his busy childhood, he provided more details about it in his recent TikTok update.

Sharing a snippet from his life, the star athlete recalled the hard work he did as a child. This laid the foundation for his iconic bodybuilding career, he said. He started working at the young age of 11. Although he questioned his life back then, he feels grateful for how his life turned out in the end.

Jay Cutler shines light on unheard struggles of his life

A candid video of Jay Cutler recently surfaced on the 50-year-old icon?s TikTok channel that featured him explaining his childhood days. Unlike many kids of his age, Cutler was doing intense manual labor work at the age of 11.?

Showing the picture, he pointed out his brothers, Keith and Bob, his father, and a teenager Cutler.?

Asked if his work laid the foundation for his bodybuilding career, he said, ?It did for sure.? ?

?I started working at 11, doing the concrete and it?s kind of crazy, that?s definitely where I got my work ethic I never thought I would,? Cutler noted.?

He acknowledged that his physique was admired even when he did not pursue the sport. Rather, the constant questions about his training regime urged him to try out bodybuilding initially.

However, speaking of his experience as a young bodybuilder, he said, ?My brothers aren?t big, my dad was never really favorable?I just had to learn on my own.? Yet, there were added struggles that almost pulled him back from stepping into the game.?

Cutler felt he was missing out on life

Apart from the physical labor, the Quad-stomp poser was also worried about his childhood getting wasted on the grind. He did not have time to enjoy his life like the other kids did. He said he would pray for the day to get over when he was working for about 16 to 17 hours a day. Even though his brothers and father accompanied him, he was the youngest one.?

?Everything?s easy now compared to doing concrete,? the IFBB champion disclosed. Expressing his gratification in all the success he now takes pride in, Cutler would not have wanted his life to play out any other way.?
