With the intention of reminding athletes of their primary motivation to work out, which is to follow their passion, Gunter Schlierkamp took to his Instagram and shared a motivational video. The video features him doing bench presses and then flexing his muscular body. In the video, he says, “I train as hard as I can, I love to train. I do it from my heart and that’s what I wanna do”.

In the video, he further adds, “Bodybuilding is actually the greatest sport on earth for me”. Conveying his love for the sport. He started building up on his core as a very small kid, having a farming background. He made sure that he had both a strong mental and physical package. During his teenage years, he started working out at the gym inspired by the legend Arnold Schwarzenegger and followed his dreams. He had a setback in his life when he had a mishap in his steroid cycle and ever since then he got back at the gym harder and trained to get in form.
Schlierkamp’s Journey from Excessive Usage to Genuine Passion
Being on cycle, the Gentle Giant shared that he had ballooned up to 340 lbs and his body started to deteriorate. He then felt that he had done enough and that he should get over with it. In one of his videos, talking about steroids, he says, “I do not mean us to have that much muscle”.
