Decades spent in bodybuilding and still being relevant? An art the four-time Mr. Universe Mike O’Hearn, aka the ‘Titan’, has mastered. Defying his age of fifty-five, he still maintains a physique that can give young bodybuilders a good run for their money. This is why O’Hearn dedicates an ample amount of time to working out. And his special area of focus, you ask? It lies on the lower body.

To achieve immense gains in your lower physique, like the Titan, one must go through a nerve-wracking leg workout. The former powerlifter recently shared his high-intensity leg-day workout regime with his audience in a recent YouTube video. Let’s find out what former Mr. California does to maintain such immense gains in his lower body.

The 55-year-old bodybuilder entitled the video “What I’m Doing For Freaky Legs” and shared his go-to leg-day exercises. In the gym with his wife, Mona Muresan, and his cameraman, the former powerlifter shared insights on a good leg workout. His first exercise was the lying leg curl, but he added a dash of Titan’s touch to the exercise. He advised the viewers to lift their glutes and hams a little bit upwards to unlock their full potential, calling this a “power movement.” But he did not stop there.

The former Mr. California elucidated the difference between the movements and did another set by sticking his lower body to the seat. The next exercise he moved on to was hyperextension, primarily focusing on your hamstrings and lower back. This helps increase the load capacity of your lower back, allowing you to lift heavy weights. Along with this, there is one more additional bonus point. Doing hyperextension maintains good posture.

For wrapping up the workout, the four-time Mr. Universe chose kneeling leg curls. The couple engaged in the unilateral sets of this exercise, giving both legs enough room to grow. This is not the first time the ‘Titan’ has done such a fierce leg workout. His love for high-intensity workouts could be seen in the 400-pound squats he did a while back.

In a video posted via Mike O’Hearn‘s Instagram account, he was seen lifting 400 pounds, making it look like child’s play. He accepted some challenges and did numerous reps of such immense weight. “450 lbs with slant boards 20° & a pause on an 12 Inch box & lifting shoes for more range,” mentioned the former powerlifter.
