Dimple Patel is an indelible name when it comes to the modeling industry. From receiving the title of Miss Globe on behalf of India at Miss Globe 2016 in Albania to acquiring the Women Empowerment Award from the Chief Minister of Gujarat for her contributions, she has successfully aced every possible realm in her career.

She has recently managed to grab the attention of the bodybuilding community as she unveiled her love for lifting weights. She embarked on her fitness journey with the prospect of just getting thin, so she continued a workout regime that consisted of a lot of cardio. Despite losing a considerable amount of weight, things weren’t working out well for her.

Why did Dimple Patel start weightlifting?

Dimple Patel did lots of cardio in order to get rid of the extra fat in her body. After months of training, she even managed to lose 25 to 30 pounds. However, she said, “At first, I was feeling good because I was seeing results, but I still wasn’t happy or necessarily healthy. I felt weak, my hair was falling out, and I knew I needed to make a shift.”

As her health started to deteriorate, one of her friends convinced her to start strength training, and it was then that her recovery started. Now she splits her workout into five days of strength training. She added, “When I started strength training, I could barely lift 44 pounds. Now, I can lift double my body weight.” 

However, strength training is not the only thing that she does to keep herself fit. She stated that on days she is not lifting, she either does yoga or takes a pole dance class to maintain balance. She even mentioned a few tips that she believes helped her gain more strength.

Patel shares the key factors of her strength-transformation journey

Dimple Patel begins with how it is important to have a strong support system in order to start something that you have never really thought of. Her mom has been one of the primary sources of her support, and even her gym mates have helped her tremendously throughout the entire process.

The second tip, as she mentions, is the importance of recovery. When Dimple Patel started her weightlifting journey, she would barely take days off, which led to no results.
