There is no doubt that this 4x Strongman champion is an indomitable figure in the world of bodybuilding. However, even the strongest men go through painful battles, trying to regain their niche. A few months ago, Brian Shaw, known for his incredible strength, faced a challenging setback when he received a diagnosis of a severe leg infection.

Due to several medical issues, Shaw made the decision to retire from the World’s Strongest Man championship and will be making his final appearance on stage in his own event, The Shaw Classic. In the recent video, he candidly shared his challenges in preparing for his last show.

Brian Shaw’s grueling struggle to get back on track

The 4-time Strongman champion is fully prepared for the last edition of his career, The Final Shaw Classic. Sharing a video titled ‘Investing More Than I Ever Have’ on his official YouTube channel ‘SHAWSTRENGTH’, he documented the second week of his preparation for the Pro Strongman competition. In the video, he openly discusses the challenges he is facing in getting back on track, including his struggles during a speed deadlift challenge with his wife.

Before embarking on the challenge, Shaw speaks up and says, “Feeling beat up is how I’m feeling right now. I got some treatment yesterday and you know I definitely needed the treatment. But just as I’m pushing here in the gym and then getting that treatment done, my body just feels beat up waking up this morning.”

Becoming the 2nd highest acquirer of the WSM title, was not easy, and maintaining his reputation for the last show will neither be easy and so he adds, “This is where discipline has to kick in so I’m riding out the training and I’m looking at it and you know it’s been like everything I did today. Getting in the cold tub this morning, getting through breakfast, getting out here it’s just one of those days where it’s not coming very easy but these are the days that matter the most because fighting through this will make me better. ” Brian Shaw aimed to secure his fifth championship title at the 2023 World’s Strongest Man competition held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Not being able to give his best in the final World’s Strongest Man competition of his life, Brian Shaw is all set and jacked up to put all in for the 2023 Shaw Classic. Getting over all the mental challenges of the medical treatment that he has been going through and at the same time, putting in all his effort to get back to becoming physically strong like he was before has been difficult, but so is the legendary Strongman!

Brian Shaw, a week ago, shared snippets from his workout on his Instagram and wrote, “The truth is it won’t always be easy. What you are going after will challenge you both mentally and physically. It you show up and put the work in on the hard days and move forward it will lead to more easy days and more improvement. Never settle and never let mental or physical weakness win.
