Arnold Schwarzenegger, known for his larger-than-life persona and dedication to fitness even at 76, often praises individuals who commit to a healthier lifestyle. Recently, Schwarzenegger posted a video of a fitness influencer, who uniquely performed a deadlift.

While Schwarzenegger acknowledged Rosenberg’s creativity, he also highlighted the risks involved. “I give this 10/10 for creativity. Minus two for the unnecessary danger, plus one for the music choice. 9/10!,” wrote Arnie in his post caption. This balanced praise reflects Arnold’s appreciation for innovation while emphasizing the importance of safety in fitness routines.

But who is the man who caught Schwarzenegger’s eye? Mark Rosenberg is a social media influencer and a record-breaker. He became the second person ever to successfully perform a Jefferson deadlift and break the record in 2022. The only other person to achieve this is former world record holder Sean Green, who lifted 906 pounds on December 1, 2019, and Rosenberg broke the record by lifting a whopping 910 lbs.

Nevertheless, Rosenberg wrote in his video post, “I can finally deadlift 4 plates! It’s definitely taken a while to get here, but I’m glad to be here.” He shared that he ignored common advice to use a regular, straight barbell and not stand on plates while lifting. He dismissed these suggestions as “quitter talk,” implying that they’re for those who don’t want to push boundaries. Rosenberg prefers using a curved barbell, finding it more effective and enjoyable. He humorously mentioned that standing on plates means less gravity, implying he’s working smarter, not harder.

One user highlighted the high risk of falling and breaking a bone and the additional hazard of a mirror that could shatter and cause further injuries. The comment read, “This might be the most dangerous and stupid thing anyone could do. Falling and breaking a limb for sure but the mirror behind him is just waiting to get smashed into shards.” A fan, instead of bashing Rosenberg, simply shared a piece of advice. They advised, “Because you can, does not mean you should.”
