In the last few months, several incidents of people harassing others for unknowingly interrupting their workout shooting sessions have led to a massive backlash in the fitness community. Controversy and online arguments surrounding such incidents have also introduced toxicity into gym culture. However, there are always exceptions and those who set a good example.

In a video, influencer Natalee Barnett showed multiple clips of people unwittingly interrupting her workout. It’s common for others in a crowded commercial gym to not be aware that someone is capturing themselves doing an exercise. However, it’s Barnett’s reaction to getting interrupted while filming that’s winning over the online fitness community.

On May 19, the Instagram page Pubity shared Natalee Barnett’s video wherein the fitness influencer shows three different clips of interacting with people. In each clip, Barnett proactively approaches the individuals to inform them that she is filming a video, regardless of whether they are present when she begins recording or unintentionally interrupting a video in progress.

The people she approaches offer to get out of her way, wanting to avoid trouble. However, she assures them they don’t need to stop their workout for her and that she would be fine with them being in her video. The founder of The Girl Spot Gym even finds a fan who followers her on TikTok through her interaction. The video instantly went viral, garnering over 910,000 likes within two days and winning over the online fitness community.

The fitness world’s wholesome reaction

The bodybuilding and fitness enthusiasts on Instagram showered praise on Natalee Barnett.?“Now THIS is what gym culture looks like,”?wrote one user.?“Responsibly with respect for others in the gym,”?wrote another.?“It takes nothing to be kind and she proved it,”?commented another user with a crow emoji.?
