In the last two years, Chinedu Andrew Obiekea has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in bodybuilding. Despite starting bodybuilding at an age where many consider leaving it, the 38-year-old has found success. His 6’2 frame, elegant posing routines, symmetry, and proportions have propelled Andrew Jacked to a top-five Olympia contender.

However, some fans have a different opinion. The 39-year-old’s artistic approach toward bodybuilding has earned Jacked the nickname, The Mona Lisa of Bodybuilding. However, despite Andrew Jacked being among the most aesthetic bodybuilders in the open weight class, fans found flaws in his physique.

Despite becoming a competitive bodybuilder later in life, Andrew Jacked climbed the proverbial ladder rapidly. Soon after becoming an IFBB Pro, Jacked won prestigious shows like the Texas Pro and Arnold Classic UK. He finished in 8th at the Mr. Olympia 2022 and improved to 5th in 2023. However, many in the bodybuilding community branded him a future champion initially.

Experts and fans pilled expectations on the newcomer. Earlier, Instagram bodybuilding page Bis and Tris did the same. “This could very much be Chinedu’s year,” speculated the page. While they said the competition would be tough, many still have sky-high expectations from the bodybuilder. Meanwhile, a lot of fans have become disillusioned.

Bodybuilding fans don’t believe in the hype anymore

While many hyped the bodybuilder to immediately conquer the sport, others were skeptical. Now, those who believed in the hype have started joining the latter camp. “Expecting his downfall honestly. Feel like Arnold (Classic 2023) was his peak. His current training seen on Ig looks horrible,” wrote one fan. “Is it just me thinking this guy is maybe overrated,” commented another.

“A flash in the pan like Patrick Moore who showed up in 2018 with noce shape and lines but never delivered,” added the fan. People also scrutinized his physique in the posing video. “He’s not there yet. Lines missing, lack of conditioning is visible but he has so much potential as an athlete,” wrote a fan. “Posing needs to be held and fully flexed. The transitions don’t show his lines and proportions well enough going quickly,” commented a second fan. Yet another fan wrote, “Not his best showing wasn’t dry enough and the condition is the name of the game.”
