The Terminator icon has good news for the foodies who want to balance fitness and food cravings. The guilt of a high-calorie snack push fitness enthusiasts to exercise more, and they often resist having their favorite dessert out of fear. However, Arnie got a doable solution to such problems.
“Slowing down and taking longer to enjoy your meals can naturally help you eat less,” wrote Arnold Schwarzenegger in his newsletter. Backing his thoughts, he shared details of an ice cream test done on people by researchers. The experiment included a sample of people having ice cream within 5 to 30 minutes and found that slow eaters had trigged two hormones (PYY and GLP-1) in the body that help in feeling satiated for a long.
“Remember, part of being healthier is finding time to enjoy certain foods guilt-free, as long as they make up the minority of your meals,” stresses the 75-year-old. Arnie further backed his statements by adding stats that slow eaters are 42% less prone to obesity. Earlier, the Predator icon shared his mother’s recipe in his newsletter and revealed that he still enjoys the sweet dish without guilt.

Despite maintaining his physique all his life, Arnie never disassociated himself from sweets and had them guilt-free. He even preaches to his fitness community to indulge in satisfying the sweet tooth while ensuring not to overdo it. “If we can’t eat sweets, what’s the point of being healthy?” he once opined.
So, he included his mom’s Kaiserschmarrn recipe in his free healthy recipe book and also shared it in his newsletter. The Austrian dessert is a sweet fluffy pancake with rum-soaked raisins.
