The three-time Mr. Olympia champion Frank Zane, aka God of Aesthetics, is famous for motivating and guiding his fans to the righteous path in their journey. If you’re a bodybuilder and focus solely on size, you might need to know what the three-time Mr. Olympia has to offer.
In a recent Instagram post on his account, Zane addressed one of the reasons that bodybuilders face in their journey. He highlighted that bodybuilders try to build their physique according to the numbers assigned to them, which leads them to face challenges. They solely focus on building each of their muscles to the same size, neglecting strength.
Zane captioned the post, “You’ll always run into problems if you try to assign a number to any part of your body.” He even highlighted that even the contest held by the IFBB Pro Leagues hasn’t set any minimum requirements on size. So instead of wasting time on making your muscles look the same, you need to focus on your strength.

God of Aesthetics shared how he managed to sculpt his physique without assigning any fixed size to his body parts. He emphasized the importance of taking pictures, analyzing them to understand what he lacked, and then improving that afterward. Zane stated, “All that other crap where the size of your neck, arms, and calves should be the same is just ridiculous.”
The three-time Mr. Olympia explained, “If you want, you can write some numbers down, but at the end of the day it’s what people see that counts. Be sure to present the perfect illusion.”
Just like the three-time Mr. Olympia Champion, the four-time Mr. Universe, Mike O’Hearn, also emphasized the importance of filming. He also used to film while working out.

In a video uploaded to Titan’s YouTube channel, he disclosed the benefits of filming your workout. The former powerlifter said, “I was filming before the internet.” The former powerlifter and his father used to shoot his squats using VHS cameras. He then used to analyze the video deeply and check if he was hitting each muscle appropriately.
Rewinding the VHS tapes and watching them again and again helped the Titan find his weaknesses and work on them. The former Mr. California also agrees with the God of Aesthetics. He highlighted that overworking a single muscle can lead to severe injuries and affect your longevity.
