Bodybuilding legend Frank Zane has etched his name in the annals of the sport by claiming the title of ‘The God of Aesthetics’. Having won the Mr. Olympia title three times, he has set standards of aesthetics that even current athletes follow and look up to. The 81-year-old fitness star, even after retiring from the sport decades ago, shares the same amount of passion for it. He uses his social media platforms to keep up with his knack for fitness and often imparts knowledge on the same.

Taking to Instagram once again, Zane shared his insight on keeping track of muscle development for regular gym-goers.

Frank Zane recently took to his official Instagram account and shared a throwback picture of himself posing bare-bodied on a beach. Through the post, he shared one of the key points that must be kept in mind if one wants to achieve muscle growth in the gym. He begins by stating that one of the most important ways to record your progress in the workouts is to keep track of your weights, sets, and reps.

He then went on to add that the development of muscles provides strength. He even mentioned, “Increases are made with good form and not cheating on exercises.” Hence, what’s clear is that no matter how many reps one pulls off, as long as their form is not right, there is no benefiting from of it.

And not just exercises, there are several other factors that contribute to fitness and muscle growth. Talking about the same, the bodybuilding icon, recently shared another post highlighting the, apart from exercise, one thing that helps him. 

Frank Zane doesn’t believe in “superfood”

Frank Zane shared a popular picture of his biceps flex from his prime days of bodybuilding. Through the post, he pointed out that he does not believe in any particular food to be a superfood and revealed how a balanced diet is the actual answer.

Talking about his diet, he wrote, I get more protein in my diet than carbs, and I don’t get a lot of fat in my diet. I’ve been following this diet for quite some time”. And well, there is no reason not to abide by his principles, given that the 81-year-old bodybuilder is indeed aging like fine wine.
