The son-in-law and eldest daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger attended a special ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. On September 11, 2001, America and the world witnessed one of the most shocking events in history. American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 75 crashed into the north and south towers of the World Trade Center. Nearly 3000 people lost their lives in the suicide attacks orchestrated by the terrorist outfit al-Qaeda.

The devastating event deeply affected America and its people, and even today, the nation collectively honors the fallen heroes. Earlier, the Guardians of the Galaxy star posted a series of images on social media from the Pepperdine Waves of Flags ceremony. The Hollywood action star wrote a heartfelt message in the caption of his post.

In honor of the lives lost in the tragedy

The son-in-law of Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger posted images and videos from the remembrance ceremony at Pepperdine University. The first image was with his wife, Arnie’s eldest daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger. He posted a picture of himself from his speech. Pratt also posted a video with Seaver College student Colton Cherry.

The Terminal List actor and Cherry planted the final American flag at the memorial to honor Stephen Cherry. Stephen Cherry was Colton Cherry’s father and lost his life in the 9/11 attacks.?“Today, let?s take a moment to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001,”?wrote Chris Pratt. “It’s a day that changed our world forever,” Pratt added.

 

However, he also said the event showed the?“strength and resilience”?of the American spirit. Pratt wrote,?“Each flag represents an innocent life lost on that day,”?in his caption. The actor also talked about the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and citizens who risked their lives to rescue people.?”Let’s also pay tribute to the families who were forever changed by this tragedy,” added the 44-year-old. Katherine Schwarzenegger shared her husband’s post on her Instagram story.?

The family members of Arnold Schwarzenegger were guests at the event. However, the alumni, students, faculty and staff, parents, and community members of Pepperdine gathered to honor every victim of tragedy. While Pratt planted the final flag, everyone at the event collectively placed 2,977 flags at the Alumni Park, one for every fallen hero.
