

During his first Olympia, when Dorian Yates finished second, he was absolutely dejected. This made Yates go back to the drawing board and work on things that he lacked, specifically posing. Recently, Yates sent fans down memory lane when he posted a throwback video from his off-season and showed off to the world how good he could look even before Mr. Olympia.
In the process of explaining when and where he was walking on the stage before his very first Mr. Olympia win, Yates also revealed what he was doing back then to climb up the ladder.

Dorian Yates unravels the birth of his side tricep pose
In his latest Instagram post, Yates shared a video from the 1992 Emerald Cup in Seattle, Washington, during his off-season before Mr. Olympia. In the video, it was his stunning physique and side tricep pose that stole attention. In the caption of the post, the bodybuilder revealed how unhappy he was for not winning the Mr. Olympia on his debut and hence started taking notes to make improvements.

About the side tricep pose, Yates explained how it became his trademark because he put his back leg a little further behind than usual. “With the side triceps pose over the years, I reformed the pose and put my back leg further behind and outwards and this change, became my trademark,” he revealed. He also explained that after doing this, he was able to show the depths and power of both his calf muscles and hamstrings in a better light for people to judge.
When the fans noticed how big and solid Yates was during his off-season, they were readily impressed.

Fans of The Shadow go gaga over Yates’ size
One of the fans exclaimed how Yates’s side triceps looked magnificent, “That side Triceps is Probably the Best in the Game!!!” Another fan commented on his humongous size, “You change The game, Yates is Bigger than life, Amazing size.. great song for your posing routine!!” Another fitness enthusiast called Yates as “Solid as a Rock.” A bodybuilding fan explained that although Yates was massive, he had other qualities that bodybuilders these days do not opt for. “Dudes these days sacrifice quality for mass, Guys simply to big for their to be beautiful anymore. Dorian was a nice size. Large but Classic. If that makes sense,” they penned. Someone else declared how flawless Dorian Yates was in the past, “The f**king shadow himself absolute flawsless.”
