The use of steroids has always been a hot topic in the world of bodybuilding but as the sport transitioned into the modern era, a new trend of comparing the use of steroids between the modern-day giants and old-school legends has taken up the surface. The IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Marc Lobliner recently has put forward his views about the same issue. However, the fitness influencer also made a strong statement, on the amount of performance-enhancing drugs old-school bodybuilders used to consume.
The recent series of tweets from Lobliner’s account has made headlines as the 42-year-old bodybuilder disagreed with a preconceived notion that old-school bodybuilders used to take less amount of drugs than modern-day greats.

Lobliner was describing how the sport of bodybuilding has evolved from giving importance to just muscular physique to prioritizing balanced aesthetic bodies in recent times. Apart from being a fan of bodybuilding, he acknowledged that the sport is going in the right direction, as the participants are showing insane conditioning. However, there were some fans who believed that the conditioning had come from the excessive use of steroids, which wasn’t present during the early times.

A fan quoted Dorian Yates’ appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast where he revealed how legends like Arnold took very less amount of drugs than today’s bodybuilders. But the IFBB Pro seemed to disagree with the statement as he replied, ” LOL Wrong. They took so many drugs back then. Handfuls of dbol, grams of Primo, and other drugs. They didn’t even measure, just injected whatever,” Lobliner replied.
The fan further wrote that Yates claimed that during his time as a professional bodybuilder, he only took a third of the steroids that today’s top athletes use. However, Lobliner’s statement contradicts this claim as he suggested that the old-school bodybuilders may have been taking similar or even more extreme measures to achieve their results. “Dorian is wrong. Or just misinformed. They took the same or more then.”
