Earlier, another national bodybuilding champion, Catalin Stefanescu, passed away while on a fishing trip. On Saturday, personal coach Justyn Vicky passed away while trying to perform squats with 400 lbs weights. Followers paid tribute to Vicky and raised important questions about lifting beyond one’s capacity. The physically demanding sport is proving to be too much for some, causing tremors of fear in the fitness community.

Earlier, the Twitter handle, Daily Loud, informed followers of the terrible news with the caption, “Bodybuilder Justyn Vicky dead at 33 after 400-pound weight breaks neck.” It was just another usual day for Vicky when he went to his regular “Paradise Gym” in Bali. The 33-year-old decided to squat with close to 400 lbs with one spotter standing behind him.

However, the exercise proved catastrophic for the personal trainer as he faltered with the weights. The weight bar fell on his neck, compressing his nerves and snapping the neck. People immediately took him to the hospital but to no avail. The dreadful injury proved too much for the fitness enthusiast. Friends and family have taken to social media to pay their homage to Vicky. Paradise Gym also posted a heart-wrenching tribute to Vicky that celebrated his achievements as a trainer.
