People often try to stay in their comfort zone as much as possible without knowing how it may affect their growth. Gaining experience in life is important, regardless of the kind of experience one gains. The seven-time Mr. Olympia and the face of golden-era bodybuilding, Arnold Schwarzenegger, thinks the same way, believing that both good and bad experiences teach us something.  

According to Arnie, life is not about staying in your comfort zone. Even Schwarzenegger is stepping out and trying something for the first time for his upcoming project. Along with this, the Austrian Oak shared a simple yet effective tip to control yourself in frustrated situations. Let’s find out what the former governor of California is up to.

The Austrian Oak reveals how to overcome one’s frustration

In the latest edition of the Austrian Oak’s newsletter, the Arnold’s Pump Club, he encouraged his fans to step out and do something challenging. Even the former bodybuilder is trying out dancing for the first time on screen in the second season of his series, FUBAR. Arnie mentioned that this took him back to the days when he practiced ballet to improve his posing. Arnie highlighted that you should focus on the good times you have, despite the hardships you face.

The Terminator also shed light on the fact that this is not an easy task. You need to move forward step by step and gradually achieve success. It is during this slow process that often lands one in situations where frustration can take over, making them do something they might regret. To avoid such instances, the Austrian Oak disclosed a tip and wrote, “Don’t take yourself so seriously  go so far as laughing at yourself.

Arnie gave the example of his dance classes and how he laughed through them. The Terminator explained, “We are taking the work seriously, but I am definitely not taking myself seriously.” The Austrian Oak highlighted that one can go down the path of frustration or the path of joy. He further explained what the path of frustration looked like.

A path that can change your life completely

The former governor of California highlighted that “if you end up on the path of frustration, you will not have the fuel to keep doing the reps.” This path turns you into a bitter man, and you might think you’ll never catch up. This will lead one to give up on his dreams by following this path rather than pursuing them with a smile, Arnie wrote.

If you realize that there is joy in growing and learning and humor in the discomfort and all of the inevitable screwups, you’ll find more fuel to do the reps,” explains the Austrian Oak. He emphasized that this would ensure that one doesn’t bail on their dreams and ambitions.
