To maintain his previous competitive weight of over 265 pounds, Phil said that he would consume a staggering 4500 calories per day. His meals were structured around high protein intake and frequent servings. “When I would compete for shows, I?m eating well over 4500 calories a day,” Heath shared.

However, times have changed. Instead of attempting to eat 6 to 8 meals every day, Phil has scaled back considerably. “Right now, it’s probably like 7 to 8 ounces of protein and only… 3 to 4 meals a day,” he revealed. The calorie count, naturally, has dipped as a result.

Despite the reduced frequency and portion sizes, Phil Heath has stuck to his tried-and-true foods. He emphasized that his protein intake still stays high, albeit in smaller portions.
