The legendary 7-time Mr Olympia and former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger has always for causes that will help people economically, educationally, and environmentally. During his tenure as a governor he brought about several initiatives including environmental health. He recently spoke on the merits and demerits of an embargo.
The multitalented personality recently sat down for an exclusive one-on-one interview with Cigar Aficionado’s Marvin R. Shanken. Arnold gave his point of view about the Cuban Embargo.
Arnold Schwarzenegger hates the Cuban Embargo

The duo was having a conversation about the embargo while smoking cigars. Shanken asked him about the Cuban embargo since Arnie is familiar with Cuba. The first thing he said was, “I hate embargoes, I always feel that the world should be the trading place.” According to him, the world is more globalized now and should not restrict trade.
The host then asked why there is still an embargo after 60 years of unrest. Arnie spoke about the political parties that get elected by Cubans. He also stated, “…This is a very sensitive issue with the Cuban people.” The Austrian Oak acknowledged the fact that they were eradicated from their homes and found refuge in the USA.
He stated that he was talking about this issue from the cigar trading point of view and economic aspect. Arnie gave a hypothetical example and said, “You know if we have a problem with Iranians, that does not mean that we should have an embargo on Persian rugs or something like that you know it doesn’t make sense to me.”
He also stated his practices when it comes to smoking a cigar. He said, “When I go down to Miami I don’t light up a Cuban cigar I light up one from the Dominican Republic because…I do care the way they feel.” Arnie is always articulates his beliefs and opinions and never shies away from being upfront about them. He loves his cigars so much that he even changed his meeting place in the governor’s office.
Arnold makes an innovative change
He loves his cigars so the Austrian Oak devised a plan of conducting important meetings with legislators and not giving up on smoking. The capitol building is a nonsmoking zone so he made a tent his de facto office. He always has unique ideas up his sleeve and this little loophole was one of them.

The meeting tent had a humidor, bowls of peanuts to snack on, bottled water, and an ashtray with cigar butts. However, some legislators despised smoking. Even so, Arnie made sure his cigars were not separated from him.
