Despite the prevailing myths surrounding creatine, scientific evidence overwhelmingly supports its safety and efficiency as a supplement. Schwarzenegger pointed out in his newsletter that creatine is not a steroid and does not cause kidney damage, as claimed previously by many individuals. He continued to clear the air by stating that “It?s not a steroid or a hormone; it?s naturally produced in your body, found in food (like meat and dairy), and doesn?t cause kidney problems.”

He continued by mentioning,?“Those who used creatine showed a reduction in body fat percentage and total body fat.” However, ‘The Austrian Oak’ rightfully stated that the foundation for losing fat is diet and exercise, creatine might just help to fasten up the process a little bit.?

Schwarzenegger also disclosed in the newsletter that apart from this, creatine also?“improves cognitive performance, memory, and executive function.”?Schwarzenegger always makes sure to cover essential research in his newsletter and educate his fans regarding nutrition and training. Quite recently, he?revealed new research?revolving around protein consumption and how it can affect your life span.

Schwarzenegger’s Take on excess protein intake

Schwarzenegger revealed in the newsletter that excess protein has nothing to do with our life span. He mentioned that despite the presence of animal research on this topic, there is no human research that proves this as of now. ‘The Terminator’ even revealed that protein acts as the bridge between muscle breakdown and recovery. This is why he suggested consuming a good amount of protein irrespective of age to ensure that you avoid unnecessary breakdown.?

Moreover, Schwarzenegger reiterated that adding excess protein helps as we age.??Our protein needs increase because our muscles start to break down. Sarcopenia is linked to disease and death in older age, and if you lose your ability to walk, move, and be active, then your quality of life drops significantly.?
