The extremely popular Giants Live The Strongman Classic 2023 Competition took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 8 July  2023. The competition had an impressive lineup of some of the best Strongmen in the world.

One can trace the history of the Strongman competition back to the 1901 ‘Great Competition’ held by the father of bodybuilding Eugene Sandow. Since then, the competition has never failed to impress bodybuilding fans with displays of strength, power, and thrill. The 2023 championship was no less.

Evan Singleton takes the crown in Giants Live Championship

The 2023  Giants classic had 11 players and five rounds. This extremely fast-paced, one-day event was star-studded. Two Strongman winners and nine elite athletes took part in the competition to prove their mettle. Evan Singleton took the trophy home, surprising fans all over the world. He performed well in all five stages. One fan commented, ‘Evan just beat one of the most stacked lineups in strongman history.”

Earlier, the YouTube Channel called The Strongman Insider posted a video of the nerve-wracking last event called the Atlas Stone. The video shows only two men able to pick the Atlas stones and place them on the platform, one after the other.

Tom Stoltman emerged as the winner of the last stage, finishing with the jaw-dropping result of 5 stones in 20.29 seconds. Title winner Evan Singleton came second. Reigning World’s Strongest Man and Arnold Strongman Classic Winner of 2023, Mitchell Hooper could lift only three stones.

Evan Singleton was much appreciated by fans for emerging as the champion. His fans rejoiced in his glory by saying, “So happy for Evan. He wanted this so badly.”Another fan added, “Dinosaurs exist! The T-Rex runs wild!!!”

Singleton opens up about his mental health issues

Evan ‘T-Rex’ Singleton’s journey to the championship was fraught with challenges. The Athlete had to face many trials and tribulations in life. He started his career as a wrestler but had to change tracks because of a deadly brain hemorrhage incurred during a fight. Keeping his fighting spirit alive, the 30-year-old made a foray into the Strongman Championship in 2020 and took it by storm.

This is not all. T-Rex also opened up about contemplating suicide multiple times. In a recent interview with Brian Shaw on the Shawstrength podcast aired on YouTube, Singleton accepts standing on the edge of a bridge contemplating suicide when someone called the police.

He made three suicide attempts, which Singleton attributes to his tough childhood. He pointed to the stigma surrounding mental health issues. However, the winner has been very vocal about his mental health issues and the importance of seeking help. He is an authentic example of resilience and strength, not only physical but also mental.
