Frank Zane was not just a?bodybuilding?prodigy but also the man with the most aesthetic physique. His ideas and display of aesthetic silhouettes brought a new age into the bodybuilding industry. The 81-year-old is a 3 time Mr. Olympia who defeated Arnold Schwarzenegger and made him pretty angry. Zane has set a new expectation in the bodybuilding era with his exponential aesthetics and physical proportion in the history of the sport.

He recently sat down with Scott Danner and talked about many things related to his competition days, defeating Arnold and other fitness titbits. However, the main highlight was the gaining of an aesthetic physique that made him win all the major competitions.

Frank Zane speaks up about silhouette

When speaking with Scott about building his career, and the muscle groups that Frank preferred, he also talked about the importance of silhouette. Frank said, ?What does your silhouette look like? What does the outline of your body look like? What do areas like your lats, your width, small waist, developed deltoids, wide shoulders, prominent calves, hamstrings and quads developed? Body looking good from every angle.?

According to him, the shadow or silhouette was the most important aspect of bodybuilding. ‘The Chemist’ knows his technicalities well when it comes to bodybuilding. He has previously spoken about assuming oneself as a sculptor?when bodybuilding. Zane also emphasizes working on the weak body parts and identifying the weak points.

Zane further said in the YouTube video about seeing the big picture. ?You not looking at any details. You are looking at the outline. But the details are in the shadow. What does your outline look like?? This last question is the main crux of all the training the IFBB Hall of Fame talks about. However, previously, Arnie had called the ‘God of Aesthetics’ a ?Chicken With 17-Inch Arms?, let?s see why.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was angry with Frank Zane

The ‘Austrian Oak’ was defeated by ‘The Chemist’ in 1968 and he could not handle the loss well. Arnie was pretty angry at Frank Zane and he addressed him, saying, ?I just got beat by a chicken with 17-inch arms.?

This remark reached the ears of the athlete himself and he addressed the issue years later. ?Well, we didn?t know each other at the time; it was 1968, and I just won Mr. America the week before, and I was in great shape whereas he wasn?t in his best shape,? the 81-year-old casually said. The 3-time Mr. Universe also said that he did not see Arnie as a competition. He thought that Arnold needed more work and was not ready for Mr O. As a result, Zane won the show and this remains one of the peak moments of his career.
