Exercising daily and working out is essential for one’s health and well-being, and who said comedians aren’t about fitness? Despite having hectic schedules and constant traveling, a renowned Ohio-born standup comedian still ensures to train regularly and maintain a healthy diet.

Recently, in a video with Men’s Health, the “Only Fans” producer opened up about his fitness regimen and gave insights about his approach to fitness and lifting. Among many other things, he pointed out that most comedians are not into fitness. However, he also revealed the struggles that he faces during his shows because of his ripped physique.

Amidst many other things that he discussed during the video, Rife appreciated the likes of Kevin Hart, Preacher Lawson, Tom Segura, Bryan Callen, and others who are into fitness. While he was clear about the fact that fitness has nothing to do with comedy, he does believe that it is essential for everyone anyway. Kevin Hart is the one who impresses Rife the most though, because of his discipline and consistency towards lifting. “I think Kevin Hart’s really been the one who’s made it like a prominent part of His person and his business, which I can really respect,” said Matt Rife. 

Continuing further, he stated, “I started working out way after I was doing stand-up…Now. I will say I don’t think it helps you by any means. I mean, people don’t want to laugh at like physically attractive people.” Opening up further about his struggles, he stated, “I think it just makes me work that much harder on the material and the jokes that I’m trying to tell you can be people focus on the real show on hands.”

Kevin Hart wakes up at 5 am every day and trains with Ron Everline, who has been his trainer for years now. He also revealed that he has found new hobbies like cycling as well to maintain his heart health. He also disclosed that while he pushes himself as much as possible, he knows his potential and the point where he has to stop.

“I’m good at knowing where my max is. You got to know your cutoff,” Hart said. “And that don’t mean you don’t challenge yourself. Just know when you’re comfortable and uncomfortable. I don’t like discomfort that doesn’t have a reason or purpose behind it.”
