The 1980s Olympia was a rather controversial event. Notably, this was also Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s last Olympia. Arnie had won six Olympia titles in a row from 1970 to 1975. He was starting his Hollywood journey after that, but suddenly the Terminator decided to take part in the Mr. Olympia event in 1980. 

Despite being out of the competitive world for five years, Arnie still decided to join one day before the event. This decision made headlines and everyone was confused. He started by doing the front double biceps pose, displaying his impressive gains and conditioning even after five years. Then he did the three-quarter back bicep pose, displaying his massive back. After that, Arnie did a side chest pose, displaying his full and round chest. He then did the double-back bicep pose.

Arnie continued to pose, and he did both front and rear lat and bicep poses. He did all the poses with strong and unwavering confidence. Even after being out for so long, he was able to maintain his conditioning, giving a tough run to competitors like Frank Zane and Mike Mentzer and winning his seventh Olympia title. 

Everyone was left stunned when the most influential bodybuilder of the era stepped on the stage. Even the reigning champion God of Aesthetics was not able to beat the Terminator’s charisma on stage. Despite being the most controversial Olympia ever, fans still showed their love and support for Arnie’s physique at the time.
