Monica Bousquet started her training journey at the gym seven years ago when she was in her fifties. Now at the age of 61, Bousquet still continues her bodybuilding journey that started late, when compared to most others. Through her dedication and hard work, not only has she gained a six-pack physique that anyone would be envious of, but she has also participated in bodybuilding championships.

Bousquet is changing the stereotype of age and fitness by winning in competitions, and recently her trainer shared some details about her achievement on Instagram.

Monica Bousquet wins among 600 athletes

The Instagram picture showed the 61-year-old grandma standing proudly after winning the competition and flaunting her flawless physique, as well as six-pack abs. She looked 10 times younger than her age and her perseverance was visible in the following pictures when she was standing on stage posing.

The trainer, who posted the picture, wrote, “Muscle Contest Master NPC Pro-Qualifier Championship. There were more than 15 hours of competition, almost 600 athletes. The best master event I’ve ever witnessed in Brazil. Bodybuilding is not the sport of those who do the most. And yes, who does it the longest”

Earlier, she had shared her struggles with her weight as well. In one of her videos, she revealed that, “My whole life I fought with the weight balance.” Despite that, she was determined to win. The bodybuilding pro shares her fitness and exercise videos on TikTok as well in the hopes that she can inspire other older people like her to take up fitness exercise. There are more veterans like her inspiring people to embrace fitness every day.

Susan Guidi: Another veteran bodybuilder who inspires people

Bosquet trains six times a week and recently also posted a video of herself, lifting up huge weights with her legs while hanging from a pull-up bar. She did that with ease and the people in the comments complimented the Portuguese bodybuilder’s prowess.

She might remind some of 65-year-old Susan Guidi, a resident of Tampa Florida, and a grandmother of five, who became a bodybuilding star. Guidi came across the then-74-old Joan MacDonald, who had lost 60 lbs through fitness and that is how Guidi embarked on her fitness journey. They are a reminder of the fact that no matter how old you are, fitness is something that can be embraced by anyone.
