He does so through the means of his official fitness blogging site, Frank Zane. In a recent article published on Friday, the athlete shared his wisdom on resting after exercises. Deeming meditation as a better rejuvenation activity, he urged his followers to try the same.?

According to the article, the 80-year-old pro opened up about his own sleep routine, claiming it to be less than 5 hours a night. His primary motive was to advise his followers to try out meditation for the restoration of energy. Zane stressed on the exhaustion athletes face from intense training, hence, resting is eternally crucial.?

However, admitting to his minimal sleep hours, Zane offered an alternative to help the athletes rest, besides sleep. ?Sleep or meditate. The fact is meditation is two times more restorative than sleep,? he stated. Even in his declining age, the American icon restores himself with hours of meditation rather than sleeping more hours at night. He added, “I find myself sleeping less (5 hours a night) and meditating more (1 to 2 hours a day) as I ripen with age.”

The IFFB Hall of Famer shared that with greater strength and endurance training, one actively gets into a greater shape. However, incorporating meditation might help them to feel ?more energetic? despite all the hard work. This knowledge stemmed from his own experience at the gym, as he noted in the article, ?I notice this as I?ve worked up to 30 minutes of? stationary bike 3 or 4 week.? Similarly, Zane once shared a simple but efficient trick that solves the greatest problem of today.?
