Dorian Yates recently posted a clip on his Instagram account where he revealed during an interview how bodybuilding changed his life forever. He also recalled an incident from?his time in prison?and disclosed what motivated him to pursue?bodybuilding and saved him from becoming evil.?

What separated Yates from the other inmates during his time behind bars?

Yates explained in his recent post that during his time in prison, the behavior of a few of the people there forced the prison officer to say that “You’re gonna be in and out of prison all your life.” However, some of the inmates Yates had did not care about it at all. This is when Dorian realized that he has to get out of there. This is not the life that he wants to live.?

 

He also revealed in the caption that, except for bodybuilding, there was not much that he knew.? “I didn?t really have much of an education, purely because I wasn?t really interested in the topics they taught us, so my options were fairly limited,”?he stated.

Yates revealed that the only thing that pushed him through training was the motivation to keep getting better in bodybuilding because he obviously did not want to get behind bars again.

He explained this by saying,?“I started training not to get bigger and stronger, you know, I was always feeling okay like that. It was to get out of, you know, improve my life and do something positive. And it wasn’t a feeling that I would like to do this… It was a feeling I literally had to do it.”
