Tuttle said in the video, that many pastas, whether made from white or whole wheat flour, often contain wheat durum. Tuttle points out a significant issue with wheat durum, especially when consumed in large quantities- it can lead to gastrointestinal bloating and gas. People may notice discomfort and wonder why their stomach feels gassy and bloated, not realizing that it could be linked to the type of wheat used in the pasta.

He further explained that while whole wheat pasta may seem like a healthier option due to its higher fiber content and added protein. Tuttle highlights the importance of considering how it affects your overall well-being. “But when it comes to pasta, as far as a nutritional standpoint, fiber is high. It does have protein, but it’s the digestibility and what it’s going to make you feel like. Flour tends to make people feel a little sleepy, a little heavy,” stated the fitness coach.

According to him, if you find yourself experiencing bloating, gas, or feeling excessively sleepy after consuming pasta, it might be worth exploring alternative sources of carbohydrates. Despite it’s health issues, Cutler revealed that he used to consume pasta to meet his carbohydrate goals, as it was once for Jay Culter himself. But Cutler also relied on something else for his mass gains.
