Every training and knowledge is a type of education, be it bodybuilding, fine arts, gymnastics, or science. Every person needs to be a critical thinker to question norms and bring new history. This is what the 6-time Olympia believes in and always followed in his career. He shared throwback pictures of his training and wrote a long caption talking about his idea of education and Mike Mentzer?s unique training mentality.

Yates started by talking about his school life and how he questioned norms from an early age. He wrote, ?Even at school I began to question things, and looking back I feel much of school was indoctrination, not education. Once I?d learned to read, write, and do basic maths what was I taught that I have ever used in life? Nothing really.? He had some very logical explanations and questions regarding the education system and the ?rules? that made civilized men. Yates said that he read an article sent by his philosopher and bodybuilder friend, ?An old training partner of mine, @paulbaxendale, is actually an academic now and he sent me through an article he thought I would enjoy; one on how the foundation of the American and many European countries education systems came from the Prussian education system model.?
Then he went on to explain why he was talking about the age-old norms of education compared to unique ways of learning. Dorian said, ?I think it?s why Mike Mentzer?s training philosophy always appealed to me. There was logic there and he formulated an argument for why Heavy-Duty training works and that made sense to me. He even thought I was training too much in ?92 when we met so it was then I adopted my one working set principle, the rest is history as they say.? The myth of going by the book was broken a lot by Mike Mentzer with his high-intensity training and exercising for a short time rather than working out for two hours. Dorian Yates has broken myths like these earlier as well about steroids.

OLYMPIA @thedorianyates as always. ???.?
