The reigning Mr. Olympia Chris Bumstead is gearing up to defend his title for the sixth time. His impressive symmetrical physique, hard work, and optimistic outlook on life have garnered a massive fan following around the globe. However, Bumstead recently shared a candid moment on Instagram, calling himself a “skinny b**ch”.

After undergoing stem cell surgery, Bumstead returned to training with renewed determination. However, his recent post revealed his struggles with body image. Instead of showcasing his prep regimen through his front double-bicep pose, the 29-year-old posted a picture of himself that, at first glance, seemed normal. But his caption told a different story. It read, “Couldn’t get myself centered, but I still fit in the frame… must still be a skinny b****.”

This self-critical comment highlighted Bumstead’s high standards for himself. Despite being at the top of his game, he remains his toughest critic. Even earlier this year, Bumstead shared another glimpse into his mindset. During a challenging workout session, he almost failed a last rep during dumbbell presses but pushed through. His humorous caption read, “Almost lost that last rep, but I was like hell no I ain’t being a skinny b**ch today.”

Even though during a session with top Olympia athletes, like Ramon Dino, Urs Kalecinski, and Arnold Classic champ Wesley Vissers, Bumstead once again showed his humility. When asked how he felt, Bumstead candidly admitted, “I feel pale and skinny beside these guys right now, you know, but it’s good. I’m proud of all of them.” Despite his self-deprecating remarks, Bumstead’s fans know he remains a force to be reckoned with.  The Classic Physique sensation highlighted insights into his intense training and daily routine.

The Canadian bodybuilding icon in a video expressed, “For the love of doing hard sh*t. Training feels like a saving grace in an era where everything is so easily accessible, but the gains remain ever so elusive and therefore even more rewarding.” He emphasized that true progress requires hard work and dedication, even when it’s tough.

In addition, Bumstead shared pictures from his latest arm workout, showcasing his commitment. One photo highlighted his impressive right bicep as he performed behind-the-back cable curls. His routine also included preacher curls, tricep pushdowns, seated bicep curls, and standard bicep curls, all demonstrating his muscle definition and conditioning. Bumstead advised, “Don’t stress in the face of adversity. Make adversity something you desire for an opportunity to grow.” His words and actions inspire dedication and resilience.

As CBum prepares for the 60th edition of the Super Bowl of bodybuilding, his supporters eagerly anticipate his performance. Do you think his recent appearance can lead to self-discouragement, or will he remain a champion at Olympia?
