Steroid usage is a huge topic and discussion in the?bodybuilding world. While it is known that most bodybuilders use mild doses of steroids such as TRT and HRT, some have lost their lives to overdoses. This topic is pretty controversial in the industry and Greg Doucette is one such IFBB pro coach who does not condone using steroids for gaining muscle.?

Recently ‘More Plates More Dates’ Derek did a podcast where he discusses the amount of steroids it takes to gain muscles and become a pro. Jeff Nippard discusses the topic with Derek, and they talk about the transition from being natty to being a pro. This is when he speculates about Chris Bumstead, who is a four-time Mr. Olympia winner.

While discussing how some people, even after gaining the most amount of muscles, hit rock bottom. That is when they might start taking steroids and bulk up more. Derek was also of the view that some people increase their food and take it to get more muscles. This is when Jeff says, ?I just kinda speculated that his dose is probably not outrageously high. He added something like 50 to 60 pounds of muscle naturally.?

He then asked Derek, ?Do you think it’s a proper assumption like CBum probably isn’t taking an insane amount?? Derek talked about CBum and his autoimmune disease and replied, ?At this point especially with his autoimmune disease, it’s very likely that he is doing the bare minimum.?

The?Olympia winner has a condition called IGA Nephropathy, which affects the kidneys, and also causes swelling in the legs, kidneys, stomach, and back. This disease affects a big part of his bodybuilding career let alone one season of competition. This autoimmune disease is the reason that he is very particular about his diet, especially the intake of protein. CBum generally cut chicken from his diet while bulking up. As he is gearing up for the fifth Olympia, his diet plan looks a lot different than the other bodybuilders.?

He talked about the intake of chicken in his diet and said? ?One chicken meal maybe, but I went a few weeks without eating chicken. Giving myself a detox because I eat so much of it. It?s such mass-produced meat I don?t trust that, It?s like good to go all the time so swapping it up Bison I found meats that are less popular like bison and elk gamey meats like that are less likely to be produced and fed a bunch of that.?
