Bodybuilding icon, Jay Cutler?s illustrious career has accounted for the knowledge about fitness that he has acquired throughout the years. Now he shares his pearls of wisdom with the rest of the fitness community in his weekly newsletter Jay Mail. The 49-year-old and 4-time Olympia winner recently shared an interesting idea about quad gains.

Jay Cutler goes against the grain to talk about the best way to build quads

Cutler shared his daily update of the latest newsletter in the Instagram story. This time around he gave a sneak peek of his advice on building huge quads. The snippet of the newsletter that Cutler showed had the initial information. Directly getting to the point Cutler disagreed with one famous opinion and wrote, ?Everybody thinks that squats are the only way to build big quads – I disagree?.
Sharing his wisdom of several years in the bodybuilding industry, ?he also supported those who squat and said, ?Of course, if you can squat, they should be part of your leg training routine.? Cutler also pointed out the risks of doing squats if people did not have, ?Healthy joints, Good hip mobility, Zero lower back pain,? and suggested that they might need to, ?fix these issues, first.??
Fitness enthusiasts need to rectify any health and joint issues, ? before squatting heavy otherwise you will increase your risk of injury, and end up going backward.? The rest of the information was left unsaid in the Instagram story and fans would have to move to the link that Cutler attached to gain full knowledge about gaining quads. The man who achieved his challenge for ?Fit for 50? talked about the negative consequences of squats as well.?
Are squats the best way to build quads?
He?further continued to write that squats?might be the best exercise but it should be done without having any physical troubles. He also made it clear that he supported the movements of squatting. Educating the audience he just talked about squatting safely for longevity.

Even Tom Platz was an advocate of squatting so Cutler was not insulting the exercise in any way. ?The Comeback Kid? had an alternative for squats as well. He said,? ?If you find squatting is an issue for any of those reasons, fixed position machines like the leg press (with full range of motion) can give you enough scope to build a ton of muscle until you can squat again.?
