The 59-year-old bodybuilding legend Paul Dillett aka Freakeinstein’s throwback posing video resurfaced on the internet and left fans in awe. The viral clip showcases Dillett striking classic bodybuilding poses on stage, from front double biceps to front lat spread. His transitions between poses are so smooth they look effortless.

Generation Iron shared the video on Instagram, captioning it, “Who remembers Paul Dillett’s stage dominance?? Who’s your favorite bodybuilder of all time??” Dillett, who started his professional career in 1991 and retired in 2012, was nicknamed “Frankenstein” and “Jurassic Paul” by his fans for his monstrous physique.

Paul Dillett, the Canadian bodybuilder born to a French father and Jamaican mother, was active in sports from a young age. Dillett’s athletic journey began in football, where he excelled in the Canadian Football League. He transitioned from football to bodybuilding and quickly developed an impressive physique. And soon started to compete, after debuting in 1991, he earned his Pro Card the following year.

By 2006, Paul Dillett had competed in 40 events, finishing in the top three in 15 of them. His standout achievements include winning the 1992 NPC North American Championships, winning the 1999 Night of Champions, placing fourth at the 1994 Mr. Olympia, and being runner-up at the 1996 Ironman Pro Invitational. And multiple top-five finishes in prestigious contests like the Arnold Classic and various Grand Prix events.

Despite an on-stage accident and almost dying at the 1994 Arnold Classic due to dehydration, Paul Dillett returned stronger, securing several top finishes over the next decade. Additionally, in 2007, he founded the WBFF, where he serves as CEO, promoting fitness and bodybuilding worldwide. Even today’s generation of bodybuilders follows his routine. His viral video caught the attention of gym-goers, who flooded the comment section with amazement and admiration.

And he was 6ft2 on top a that!” Another was amazed by his massive muscle size, writing, “The masssssss! Awesome.” Fans highlighted Dillett’s extraordinary physical condition, with one noting, “Paul was definitely a specimen! Just amazing.” After witnessing such an impressive and amazing size with conditioning, one surprisingly asked, “How he never won Mr. Olympia.” Fans noticed that Dillett had an unusually large and muscular body for his height, making him a legendary figure in bodybuilding. “This guy was truly a freaky big man. Not many guys could build that kind of muscle at his stature. He is legendary,” remarked the fan.

Another drew a comparison with the modern-day bodybuilding scene and pointed out that his physique was so extraordinary that it seemed otherworldly. “Let’s be honest, Dillett was a creature from another world! Even by today’s standards,” mentioned another follower. Meanwhile, a few highlighted, why he never won Mr. Olympia, believing that if Paul Dillett had been able to hold his poses better and improve the details of his back muscles, he would have won more competitions and defeated all his rivals.
