Chris Wallis talked about the Austrian World Summit where Arnie had given an extensive speech on climate change. At that summit, Schwarzenegger claimed that he doesn’t like the phrase climate change. To this remark, Arnold replied, “Well, because when we talk about climate change, it’s something that always is referred to as something that is going to happen down the line, or it’s going to gradually happen.”
Arnie further explained the reason and said, “And people’s minds, are brain is not wired to respond to something down the line. So, therefore, let’s look at something that is really the cause of climate change, which is pollution. If we fight pollution, then everyone will get on board. But if you say climate change, the Republicans will immediately run the other way.”
The Terminator actor then said, “According to the World Health Organization, 7,000,000 people a year die because of pollution not because of climate change.” He suggested that using pollution as a branding strategy would help people better comprehend and address climate change, as tangible concepts are easier to grasp.

Arnie talked about the omnipresent evil of climate at the Austrian World Summit. USC Schwarzenegger Institute’s Instagram page shared a clip from the 75-year old’s speech at the summit. The snippet read, “They always were talking about climate change. But no one knew what the hel* is climate change. So they went right over people’s heads.”

Arnie also said, “They should have also talked about pollution.” According to him, there needs to be more awareness about climate change and pollution.
