Mitchell Hooper  defended his title with his second consecutive victory in the Arnold Strongman Classic 2024. He defeated  the most-anticipated Hafthor Bjornsson, who was making a comeback to the strongman circuit. After winning the Strongman title, Hooper recently shared a video on Instagram of him deadlifting 705 pounds, leaving the community stunned.

Hooper is all set to make history in the Arnold Classic UK, where he will be facing strong contenders, like Bjornsson, Maxime Boudreault, and Oskar Ziolowski. The Canadian strongman is so popular in the circuit that even the Arnold Classics page commented on his post.

Hooper captioned the video,” 320kg (705lbs) moving like air. @arnoldexpouk 7 days out.” Hooper did five reps continuously with the immense weight, making it look like it was a piece of cake, giving fans a glimpse of how he was building up to the Arnold Classic UK.

Hooper effortlessly lifted the bar, showcasing the level of effort he was putting in for his next event. The Canadian Powerhouse is aiming to defend his title and emerge victorious this year in the Arnold Classic UK. His training hints at the fact that there is definitely going to be an intense battle of raw strength between Hooper and Bjornsson once again.

On the other hand, even though Bjornsson was leading after the first even with his incredible performance in the elephant bar deadlift at the Arnold Classic, Hooper turned the tables on day two.

An intense showdown at the Arnold Classic 2024

Bjornsson stunned many with his Elephant Bar deadlift and scored 11 points. After this, however, Hooper shifted gears and started scoring more than Thor. Hooper won the Timber Carry event by completing the event in just 7.10 seconds, while Bjornsson took 8.40 seconds.

The Canadian Powerhouse did an encore in the next event, overpowering Thor while carrying Dinnie Stone. Hooper traveled 12.60 meters, and Bjornsson did 10.72 meters. The Canadian did 5 reps of 401 lbs in the Apollon Wheels event, and Thor was only able to do one. Hooper scored 52 overall points and won the title of Arnold Classic 2024, beating everyone in all these events and leaving Bjornsson at fourth place.
