Powerlifter and bodybuilding aficionado Larry Wheels is a rising strength athlete with a huge fan following. The fitness influencer harnessed the strength of social media to gain popularity among netizens. Furthermore, his display of strength through a 225-pound one-arm bench press and a 585-pound one-arm deadlift proved his mettle as a powerhouse. The Strongman prodigy also impressed the world with his two back-to-back world records by lifting 2171 lbs in 2017 and 2275 lbs combined bench press, deadlift, and back squat in 2018. However, pushing the body through stress eventually caught up with the weightlifter.

A few days ago, Wheels informed people he was suffering from a life-threatening disease called rhabdomyolysis. Netizens wished Wheels a speedy recovery. Earlier, the 29-year-old arm wrestler gave another health update to his fans, but this time it was not the hospital bed. Let us dig deeper.

Earlier, taking to Instagram, the weightlifter posted a happy story update. In the first reel, Wheels is flaunting his biceps with a huge grin. He wrote in the video, “Feeling much better! Thanks for Love and Support.” Furthermore, the words, “First Dip in My Pool,” flashed in the second part of the story as Wheels swam in his pool under the deep blue sky. The image evoked a sigh of relief among well-wishers, as it is a completely different scene compared to his posts from a hospital bed.

Previously, the world went into topsy-turvy when Wheels revealed his health condition. “ I fk*d around and got Rhabdo. lightheaded af,” informed Wheels in an Instagram update. In Rhabdo, damaged muscle tissue releases its proteins and electrolytes into the blood, which might prove fatal for the kidneys and liver. It can happen due to overexertion of the body, a scenario most powerlifters are familiar with.

The fitness coach, in a recent YouTube video, informed netizens that Wheel’s gigantic muscles may exert pressure on his vital organs, like the liver and heart. The powerlifter flaunts an impressive physique, weighing 260–300 lbs on a six-foot-one-inch frame. Doucette opined that PEDs may boost performance, but in the long run, these enhancements have a detrimental effect on the body. “If he’s suffering from some kidney damage, it would help immensely if he were to downsize all these extra muscles,” said Doucette.
