Besides monotonous tasks, AI has entered the creative field, as ChatGPT is up to fictional stories and poetry. Amidst the rising fear of AI taking over traditional jobs, Hollywood took to the streets for protection against Artificial Intelligence. And the son of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger, joins the SAG-AFTRA strike as he shares an update on social media.

Patrick Schwarzenegger took to the streets with his film community

The fear of AI has affected many business sectors, and Hollywood is no exception. After six decades, the American film community decided to go on strike for better-paying conditions for writers and protection from AI intervention.

The Writers Guild of America’s strike has been in place since May this year. The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, which harbors 160,000 members, joined the suit after top directors agreed to go on strike which has already started from July 14. Leaders of Hollywood’s actor’s union expressed solidarity with SAG-AFTRA, and production houses across the entertainment industry were closed.

The move comes after failed talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers regarding better pay and the AI threat. The issues involved are low pay rates further impacted by inflation, the use of AI, and streaming platforms coercing artists to make video auditions at their expense. Patrick Schwarzenegger, the Midnight Sun actor, also joined the strike, as he shared an Instagram story of him holding placards for the strike on the streets. Earlier, his father, the former California governor, expressed his thoughts on Artificial Intelligence.

The 75-year-old joined the CES tech event in 2023 and expressed his thoughts on advancing technological ventures. “From cloning to Artificial Intelligence to traveling to Mars, my movie career covered it all,” a proud Arnold Schwarzenegger claimed. He credited James Cameron with predicting the future in Arnie’s Terminator franchise. However, he revealed how he can’t wrap his head around why Hollywood is threatened by AI. “A lot of people in Hollywood—they are worried about AI,” he stated.
