The passing of Hollywood’s beloved action star, Carl Weathers, at the age of 76, has left a void in the entertainment world. His family shared the news, sparking an outpouring of condolences and memories from fans and fellow actors alike. Among those paying tribute is none other than bodybuilding icon, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Weathers, renowned for his memorable roles in films like “Predator” and the “Rocky” series, was hailed by Schwarzenegger as indispensable to the success of “Predator.”

Arnie took to his Instagram to express his emotions, as he shared a few pictures from the film. The post was accompanied by a heartfelt message. He, reminiscing about his time with the late actor, expressed, “Carl Weathers will always be a legend. An extraordinary athlete, a fantastic actor, and a great person. We couldn’t have made Predator without him.” He spoke of the joy of working alongside Weathers, describing every moment on and off set as pure bliss.

 

The Terminator star continued and stated, “Every minute with him – on set and off – was pure joy. He was the type of friend who pushes you to be your best just to keep up with him.” Schwarzenegger fondly recalled Weathers as not only an extraordinary athlete and actor but also a remarkable individual who inspired those around him to strive for greatness.

Joining Schwarzenegger in honoring Weathers was comedian and actor Adam Sandler, who expressed his admiration. Sandler described Weathers as a “true great man” and praised his talents both on and off-screen. He fondly remembered Weathers as a beloved figure universally adored by all who knew him. The family of Carl Weathers sadly announced his peaceful passing in sleep on February 1st, 2024.

He peacefully departed, leaving a lasting impact on the world

In a statement given by his family, they declared, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers, he died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. … He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner and friend.”

Weather was born in 1948, he began his remarkable journey in Hollywood after playing football at San Diego State University. He played for the Raiders in 1970. Later, ventured into Canadian football with the B.C. Lions, he seamlessly transitioned from the NFL. Interestingly, Weathers studied acting and filmmaking in college.  After making his name in sports, he started his acting career later. And in just a few years he made a name for himself with the Rocky series. Over a 50-year Hollywood career, he graced over 75 films and TV shows. Also earned an Emmy nomination in 2021 for The Mandalorian.
