In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Chris Bumstead opened up about the challenges he faced during the previous year’s contest. He disclosed an insight into growing a mold on his vents and how difficult it is to get rid of it.

In the candid video, the bodybuilding icon said that mold growing on a ventilation system. As he said, “There’s that there’s mold growing on one of my f**k* Vents and they came in and had to clean it off and re-tape it.” Then he added, “If I won an Olympia living in f**k* mold last year I couldn’t breathe couldn’t sleep this guy’s a little bit this year you know”. He explained the impact of this mold extended far beyond its appearance. It affected his ability to breathe and sleep, two fundamental aspects of his rigorous training and preparation.

In the year of 2019, CBum had to go through hernia surgery before the Olympia event. It seems that his health issues somewhat benefitted him every time. Bumstead has lived with an autoimmune disease that targets his kidneys. The star suffers from IGA Nephropathy, which causes inflammation in his kidneys and triggers an autoimmune response that’s harmful to his body.
