Regan Grimes, the prominent figure in Classic Physique bodybuilding, has made waves with his jaw-dropping transformation in recent times. In 2019, Grimes switched his competitive category from the Open Division to Classic Physique. Since then, he has stunned his fans with his physical achievements. Recently, he shared an update on his latest progress and revealed a technique for optimizing back muscle gain.

Grimes took to his official Instagram page and unveiled the most common mistake that might be hindering one’s path to achieving a sculpted back.

In the snippet of his workout video, he begins with a clear message by saying, “Back training most common mistake has to be pulling too much with your arms and wanting to be too strict!” The Canadian bodybuilder demonstrated these movements in the short clip.

He further explained in the caption, “All back movements require a certain amount of flow and what I mean by that is you gotta move with the weights!” He stressed the importance of avoiding the tendency to rely solely upon arm strength, encouraging a more dynamic and smooth motion.

Moreover, the 30-year-old showcased a single, seamless movement. Despite its apparent ease, he emphasized the complexity behind it. Grimes further pointed out that several steps and mental cues were crucial for maximizing the workout. According to him, developing a killer back requires a deliberate and calculated approach. The tip here is to focus on the coordination between the mind and muscle during exercise. In addition to Grimes, the six-times Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates had also urged athletes against lifting heavy weights and focusing on one’s form.

In an earlier Instagram post, assisting people who accidentally hurt themselves while trying to get strong bodies, the Shadow showcased his view on lifting weights at the gym. He believed that many people make big mistakes by lifting too much weight, which can hurt their form and not give them the results they seek.

He advised against quickly adding more weights, saying it’s too much. According to him, even 11 lbs, is often too big of an increase. Instead, he recommended starting with smaller weights and gradually increasing to the maximum. The British bodybuilder emphasized on not rushing the process and focusing on good form to get better results.
