Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chris Hemsworth are two of the biggest Hollywood stars currently working with Netflix. Schwarzenegger has starred in FUBAR and a biographical docu-series on the platfrom. Meanwhile, Hemsworth’s Extraction 2 was released on June 16. Hence, the streaming giant teamed the two stars up to do special promos. While attending the Netflix Tudum event in Brazil, People magazine caught up with Hemsworth to ask about his experience working with the bodybuilding legend.
During the short interview, the Thor star talked about how it felt meeting and working out with Schwarzenegger for the first time. He also revealed the truth about starring with Arnie in the viral?“Awkward Elevator Ride” commercial series by Netflix.

Earlier today, the official Twitter handle of the People magazine posted a short video of the MCU actor. “POV: you walk into the gym and see #ChrisHemsworth and #ArnoldSchwarzenegger working out together,”?read the caption. In the video, the reporter asked Hemsworth about the recent photograph the actor posted with the seven-time Mr. Olympia after working out together.
The Australian said that he had only worked with Schwarzenegger remotely. Training with the bodybuilding legend was?“kind of a dream come true.”?He revealed the?“evelevator sketch”?he and Arnie acted in was done in an ingenious way to make it appear they were in the same elevator. According to the Extraction actor, they shot the commercial in different parts of the globe.

“The elevator sketch that we shot… we’re on green screens and separate countries,”?revealed the Hollywood heartthrob. Hence meeting for the first time and training together felt like a?“pretty special moment,”?for Hemsworth. While Netlfix teamed up the two stars, they might’ve gotten the idea after Hemsworth responded to a previous commercial starring the 75-year-old.
When Arnie became Chief Action Officer
On May 22, days before the release of FUBAR Arnold Schwarzenegger took on the role of Chief Action Officer for Netflix. In the viral ad, Arnie turned up at the Netflix headquarters in his Patton tank. He then scrutinized one of the action sequences for the then-upcoming Extraction 2. The ad became massively popular and Hemsworth took notice as well.
In the video, Schwarzenegger said he was there to make sure Netflix action films like Extraction 2 have the most exhilarating action possible. Chris Hemsworth shared the commercial on his Instagram story, tagged the 75-year-old, and wrote, “If it?s action Arnie wants, you?ve got it with Extraction 2.”?A few weeks after that, the elevator commercial aired.
