As we witness Chris Bumstead’s record-setting Classic Physique Olympia reign, it’s easy to forget that his fiancée was a bodybuilding champion. Many casual fans who have been following Bumstead since he won the Olympia title may not even know Courtney King won the Bikini Ms. Olympia title in 2016. Although she doesn’t compete, her passion for fitness remains intact.

Courtney’s dedication to bodybuilding and fitness became even more apparent after she became a mother. Chris Bumstead and Courtney King became parents on April 22nd, and now that she completed her postpartum, King is back to training. Despite the relentless chaos of becoming a new parent, CBum’s fiancée is still finding time to work on herself.

One fan found it astounding how the new mother manages to take care of her baby and train. Thankfully, Bradley Shay Bumstead’s mother provided her the perfect opportunity to satiate her curiosity. “How do you squeeze in workouts with a newborn? You’re such an inspiration!” the fan asked the former bodybuilding champion during an Instagram stories Q&A session.

“It can be hard,” Courtney King answered. She explained how a new mother has to be ready to tend to their baby at a moment’s notice. “I was on the treadmill for 3 mins warming up and she started waking up/crying (short nap this morning). Soooo… I got off the treadmill, came back inside, fed her more,” recounted King. Despite being this busy, King’s advice was to train whenever possible.

“My workout is postponed until her next nap. LOL,” added Chris Bumstead’s fiancée. However, when her baby did fall asleep, King went back to train. “Really just try to squeeze it in when I can or if I have help!” she added. This is even more impressive owing to the fact that CBum is currently focusing on training to defend his Classic Physique Olympia title.

Chris Bumstead is back to training full time

The bodybuilding icon took an extended time off from competition following his fifth title victory. Chris Bumstead didn’t just want to give his body time to heal, but also looked to prepare for fatherhood. Now that the reigning King of Classic Physique has become a father, his next goal is to win a sixth title. In his own words, Bumstead is earning retirement, and this one may be his final Olympia.

The Canadian bodybuilding champion is currently focusing most of his energy on training, while also posting regular workout updates on social media. After suffering repeated injuries since 2022, CBum hopes to compete at his best this year. However, that doesn’t mean Bumstead isn’t showing up with his family. Despite the intense training camp, the champion bodybuilder ensures he makes time for his newborn daughter and fiancée.
