In bodybuilding, every athlete is competing individually to achieve the best physique and win trophies. Even though there’s fierce competition on stage, there’s a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork behind the scenes. This extends not only to trainers and coaches but also to the competitors themselves. In the current era, a notable example of this friendly rivalry and partnership exists between 28-year-old Canadian IFBB professional bodybuilder Chris Bumstead and Urs Kalecinski. Similar to the relationship between Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman, they have a positive bond offstage and even train together.

Urs Kalecinski is a pro bodybuilder from Germany who competes in the Classic Physique division of the IFBB Pro league. On the other hand, Chris Bumstead from Canada is the current champion in that division. Let?s see how they are on and off stage.

In the 2023 Arnold Classic, Urs Kalecinski got second place after Chris Bumstead. Urs might have won if he didn’t get very sick from food poisoning just five days before the competition. Chris Bumstead has won the classic physique category four times and is trying for a fifth win. Both of them have health issues to deal with; Chris has a disease that affects his kidneys and muscles. But they keep working really hard to reach their goals.

The first time they met was in 2021. Kalecinski crossed paths with?CBum?for the first time at his 2021 Olympia debut. He has been a top contender ever since after receiving his Bro Cart at only 21 years old.?

While Bumstead is planning on retiring after a few more competitions, The Miracle Bear is planning to stay in the bodybuilding industry and has won the 2022 Boston Pro and the 2022 Kuwait Classic Pro. Kalecinski and Bumstead are rivals on stage but share a respectful relationship off-stage.

They even work out together in the same gym and give each other the best advice to nourish each other?s physique.

The duo trained together during Kalescinski?s visit during the 2022 Olympia preparations and they also teamed up after the 2023 Arnold classic. Recently they have again teamed up for an arm workout session just one week before 2023 Mr. Olympia. Their arm workout session kicked off with Cable Cross Tricep Extensions to focus on the triceps, followed by Preacher Curls to work on the biceps. The routine continued with the Smith Machine Close-Grip Bench Press, and they added Flamingo Curls into the mix. To finish off their arm workout, they included Rope Tricep Pushdowns and Dumbbell Hammer Curls for a well-rounded session.

They?are always having pleasant banter with each other in the videos, and even on Instagram. On one occasion, when Chris Bumstead posted an adorable picture with him on Instagram, he called him a ?skinny bear?. This made Kalecinski reply with a jibe at Bumstead?s age. However, all of this was in good faith.

They recently uploaded an arm workout video where both shared conversations as well as worked on their biceps and other parts of their arms. Even if they are rivals and competing for the same category, the two bodybuilders always help each other in the gym and encourage for the best workout session.

The video is 47 minutes long and they share deep conversations, as well as batters and diligently prepare for Mr. Olympias who is just seven days away.?They spoke about Iain Valliere and the courage it needs to quit from something that you love which value was successfully able to do. They shared each other’s experiences in the bodybuilding world and it seemed like two childhood friends meeting each other and conversing with each other.
