Chris Bumstead has suffered injuries while preparing to defend his Classic Physique Olympia title for the last three years. Besides traditional medicine, Bumstead has also opted for stem cell therapy. The bodybuilder healed his 2022 bicep tear with stem cells and underwent another session in 2023. So this year, CBum underwent another session while preparing for Mr. Olympia.

Last year, CBum tore his lat muscle during his Olympia prep and nearly thought about quitting. While he didn’t specify if he got stem cells before or after the injury, CBum healed up and won his fifth title in 2023. So this year, the Canadian bodybuilding champion has taken a different approach. Bumstead underwent stem cell therapy because he wanted to prevent further injuries.

“Chris Bumstead first came to Eternal Health a little over one year ago and since then we have worked on healing his body from inside out,” wrote stem cell special Dr. Adeel Khan. Chris Bumstead has suffered from an autoimmune disease even before he started competing. The 29-year-old revealed that he has kept the symptoms at bay for years thanks to stem cells.

The new dad explained that his goal with stem cell therapy is to improve longevity. “As a bodybuilder, I put my body through a lot of stress, a lot of inflammation, a lot joint pain…” confessed Chris Bumstead. Thankfully, the bodybuilder has continued to benefit from stem cells and chose to do another session as the coming months will be grueling.

However, Dr. Khan explained that the King of Classic Physique isn’t doing stem cell therapy solely for his Olympia prep. He also said that Bumstead is focused on “general longevity,” so he can lead a “healthy, strong life,” after retiring from bodybuilding. However, Bumstead many have chosen Dr. Khan because of his work with other bodybuilders.

Dr. Adeel Khan has treated other champions like Chris Bumstead

Dr. Adeel Khan has worked with multiple bodybuilding champions who have all vouched for the benefits of stem cell therapy. Besides the 5x Classic Physique champion, Khan has treated 2x Mr. Olympia Big Ramy. Ramy lost his title in 2022 and showed visible signs of wear and tear on his body. However, after just two months of stem cell therapy, Ramy competed on the Arnold Classic stage with an improved physique.

The specialist has also treated former Mr. Universe and bodybuilding coach Milos Sarcev for hip issues. Dr. Adeel Khan even called 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman to ask him to try stem cell therapy. However, he was glad to learn that Coleman had already started stem cells there and benefited from it.

So, it’s no wonder that Chris Bumstead chose this promising alternative treatment. The bodybuilding champion has suffered many injuries and wants to heal as much as he can for life after competitive bodybuilding.
