The madness and excitement for Mr. Olympia 2023 have inflamed like a bushfire! Athletes from every division have started to check in at the dynamic venue of the Orange County Convention Centre, and the atmosphere is buzzing with high energy. It is a great moment to see athletes and sports fanatics come together under a roof to celebrate to most prestigious event of all time. The stage is all set, and the countdown has begun for a magnificent show. The Olympia TV broadcasted the check-in of bodybuilders of all the divisions. Where the camera spotted the four-time Mr. Olympia Classic Physique, Chris Bumstead.

The confidence he’s showing even during his entrance is spectacular. Bumstead walked in the ’99’ jersey to honor the well-known legendary athlete Wayne Gretzky, who was an Ice Hockey player, who played 20 seasons. The 62-year-old Canadian Athlete retired from sports in 1999. CBum’s gesture paid tribute to Gretzky and showed great sportsmanship.
However, the 28-year-old Canadian bodybuilder can be seen in one frame with his rival Urs Kalecinksi. He meets and greets with fellow bodybuilders. Every verbal bout between these athletes has come to an end. The bodybuilders will hit the stage for showcasing their talent is scheduled for 3rd to 4th November. And on the last day, they’re holding a special Olympia Superstar Seminar.

CBum faced difficulties in prepping for the fifth time

Since becoming the champion, Bumstead has directed all his attention to the Olympia competition. He hasn’t participated in other contests and remains a dominant force at the year’s most significant event, all the while building his personal brand outside the spotlight.
Getting ready for the 2023 show, Bumstead shared that this cycle has been quite a tough journey for him.“This has been one of the most challenging beginnings of prep I’ve gone through. But it’s far from the first time I’ve been tested”, said CBum. He explained that it’s never easy to face challenges. You have to be mentally strong to push your limits despite the hard times. It is easier to quit than to face difficult challenges with determination. Chris Bumstead has talked about possibly retiring in the past, but he’s always been determined to win more Olympia titles. It looks like now he’s going to let time make that decision, and he recently mentioned this on his Instagram.
CBum stated, “It’s also not as simple as “never quitting”. there will be a time where the difficult, but the right choice will be to hang it up. Sometimes it’s easier to stay stuck in the things making us miserable because they’re comfortably familiar, or maybe we’ve attached our identity to it. this is when quitting is the courageous decision, to step into the unknown. Whether my heart or my body isn’t in it anymore, i’m going to have to trust myself to make the right decision. That time may be soon, it may be far, i honestly don’t know. All i know is that it is not right now.”
Moreover, he added, “The times where I’m motivated and the times I want to quit. I’ll be able to look back and know I allowed myself to feel those negative emotions, but I never submitted to them”. CBum faced a lot of difficulties in his life. Despite that, he managed to overcome all of those, engaging in a battle with himself.
