Chris Bumstead and Courtney King are only a few days away from becoming parents. The preparations for welcoming the baby are certainly at the top of their priority list. Amidst this, Chris Bumstead dropped a video on becoming a father and replied to several questions on the topic. Particularly, the 5-time Mr. Olympia’s answer to which sport he would like his baby girl to play would interest his fans.

Both CBum and his wife Courtney King revealed the sport they want their kid to participate in, and contrary to popular opinion, the couple made it clear that they do not want ‘Baby Bum’ to follow the sport in which both the parents excelled. And here’s what you need to know about their reason behind it.

Courtney King explains she wants her child to be active

When asked about Baby Bum’s future sports career, Courtney dismissed the idea of her making it in the bodybuilding industry. She said, “Low key I don’t even want her to do bodybuilding she can do whatever she wants.” In reply to that, Bumstead also affirmed that they would not push their child to do what they have done skillfully. He remarked, “We will not encourage that.”

King also explained that her background in bodybuilding won’t have any bearing on the child. She wants the baby to pick whatever she truly wants to do. Thus King dismissed any sort of pressure from their side on the baby by saying, “In any way before you would think because he’s doing it and currently does it and I’ve done it. that we’re like yeah bodybuilding. And I’m all for like you know being active and working out or whatever she wants to do whatever, even if she doesn’t want to do that that’s fine.”

Chris Bumstead however, revealed a few sports that he would be quite interested to see his baby participate in.

Chris Bumstead wants Baby Bum to play tennis

Bumstead revealed how he wants his daughter to pursue powerlifting instead of going for something like bodybuilding. He wants her to focus on strength. He stated, “Rather be a powerlifter than a bodybuilder, more I feel like more focus on strength rather than physical appearance. Especially at a young age, especially for a woman is kind of it’s just that’s better.”

Furthermore, Bumstead also revealed that he would not mind if his daughter wanted to pick up pickleball. He also suggested his interest in seeing her pursue tennis and gymnastics. The bodybuilder confessed that even he wanted to play tennis for a bit.

Bumstead stated, “Wouldn’t force her to do it but I would say gymnastics and Tennis.” Then he added, “I kind of want to play tennis.”
